The Apex socio-political organisation in the South-East, Ohaneze Ndigbo, has admonished Igbo politicians against accepting to be a running mates to any presidential candidate in 2023. According to the group, 2023 is the year when an Igbo man should emerge as President of Nigeria. George Obiozor, president-general of Ohaneze Ndigbo, said this at an emergency meeting organised by the group in Enugu state today May 5. Obiozor said the clamour for Igbo to be elected president of Nigeria is morally and historically justifiable and a project to which every Igbo must commit. “All the double dealings about zoning and rotation of power are orchestrated conspiracy to deprive the south-east of the right to produce the president.
