Worried by the rise in kidnappings and the huge amounts paid to bandits for the release of their victims, Kano-based lawyer, Bulama Bukarti, has advised President Buhari to establish a Ministry whose responsibility it will be to negotiate ransom, payment and documentation. He gave this advice after he mentioned that a close source told him that N100 million was paid for the release of the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture, Alwan Ali-Hassan. ”A family source confirmed to me that N100m, in cash, was paid for the release of the MD of Bank of Agric. The crazy money terrorists are making in Nigeria! This problem will simply keep growing. Not only are there no consequences to terrorism, it also pays handsomely.
